How Hair Growth Calculator Works
Your hair grows at different rates based on your gender, ethnicity, and age. Men typically have slightly faster growth rates than women, with an average growth rate of about 1.1 times the base rate. Asian hair grows fastest (about 1.75 times the base rate), followed by Caucasian hair (1.25 times), while African hair grows at the standard base rate.
Age also plays a significant role in hair growth speed. Hair grows fastest in people under 20 years old (1.4 times the base rate) and throughout the prime adult years of 20-40 (1.3 times). Growth slows down gradually after 40, with people over 60 experiencing the slowest growth at about 90% of the base rate.
